The CFA program consists of three levels:
- Level 1: Focuses on basic knowledge of investment tools and concepts.
- Level 2: Emphasizes asset valuation and applying concepts in real-world scenarios.
- Level 3: Concentrates on portfolio management and wealth planning, with a mix of multiple-choice questions and essay-format responses.
- Level 1: Multiple-choice questions.
- Level 2: Vignette-supported multiple-choice questions (longer case studies followed by multiple-choice questions).
- Level 3: A combination of vignette-supported essay questions and vignette-supported multiple-choice questions.
To register for the CFA exam, candidates must meet one of the following:
- Have a bachelor’s degree or be in the final year of their degree program.
- Have a combination of professional work experience and education totaling at least four years.
- Be prepared to study for an average of 300 hours per exam level.
The CFA exams are held multiple times a year, but the availability varies by level:
- Level 1: Offered four times a year (February, May, August, November).
